Want to know how?
Pumping companies like ours get paid every time you pump out your system, so it makes sense that they want you to pay them every year. You’ll often hear that regular pumping helps prevent system failure as another reason to do it.
At Grant’s Septic Techs we’ve been working with septic systems of all kinds since 1961. There’s nothing we haven’t seen or fixed. With the thousands of systems we’ve looked after, I can tell you that nearly all modern systems will last for around 20 years before they start to fail (which is usually around $30k to replace). Whether you pump annually or not.
... Essentially THIS is where water usage matters... higher water usage means quicker failure, managing to reduce water usage means longer life, and tank pumping is only based on waste buildup in the tank (where if not pumped then that waste would flow out into the drain field). If pumped too often, then only wastewater is being pumped out (where if not pumped then that wastewater would be recycled into the environment through the drain field).
Other than the cost, pumping your septic system is an inconvenience. We get that - no one likes big trucks on their drive and the smelly process that pumping is!  The more we can do to maintain the health of your septic system and reduce the cost and inconvenience of pumping, the happier our clients are with our service.
The goal is to optimize your individual pumping schedule to keep your septic system working well and reduce the amount you pay out for pumping.

How often are you pumping your septic system?
Would you rather pay $300 per year, or $300 every 3-4 years getting your septic system pumped…?
How often your septic system needs to be pumped depends on the waste build up in your septic tank. Here’s a guide so you can see how much you could be saving after our Septic Pumping Maintenance test has optimized your pumping schedule:
